My Story

Alka Bhanot

Hello there, I'm Alka!

With an academic background in Economics and Mass Communications, along with a decade-long career as a producer in the Indian television industry, I've now turned my focus to helping individuals and organizations with fundraising strategy, community outreach, impact consulting, brand building and communications strategy.

Before starting The Brainstormery, I co-founded Indie Meme, a South Asian Cultural Arts Non-Profit based in Austin, and served as the Festival Director of the Indie Meme Film Festival, which showcased Iranian & South Asian Films. My goal has always been to showcase the diversity within the South Asian community and provide a platform for emerging talent from this vibrant part of the world.

In addition to my work in the cultural arts sphere, I've also been involved in various independent film projects in Austin, including a locally produced animated series.

Now, with The Brainstormery, one of the things I'm most excited about is to bring my expertise to those seeking assistance in bringing their creative visions to life.

I am also really looking forward to assisting small businesses and organizations with their fundraising and communication strategies! I am a perfect candidate to build your CSR or Social Impact program.

When I'm not immersed in the world of arts and culture, I enjoy spending time with my Architect husband, Ranjit Gupta, and our two teenage children, not to mention our lively 7-year-old puppy. I'm looking forward to connecting with you and exploring how The Brainstormery can help bring your projects to fruition.
